Dogs and Puppies at Oak Hill

Like many others, we are drawn to the challenge of contributing to the breeds we love by trying to produce puppies that consistently live up to the breed ideal as we understand it. To that end, we use what we know about training and the desirable traits of retrievers to identify prospective studs and brood bitches. We breed Labrador and Chesapeake Bay retrievers. At least ten Field Champion retrievers have been whelped at Oak Hill Kennel. Dogs from our kennel have also distinguished themselves in hunting tests, obedience, agility, and conformation, as service dogs, and as personal hunting dogs and family pets.

The future of puppies we breed, dogs we sell, and puppies sired by our studs is important to us. The dogs' well-being depends on buyers' being happy with their dogs. To that end we are committed to openness regarding the traits and genetic test results of our dogs. We will do all we can to make sure that anyone buying from us, or breeding to our studs, knows what they are getting. Because not everyone is looking for the same thing, we will carefully discuss prospective buyers' needs and the relevant traits of our dogs. We also reserve the right to refuse to sell or breed a dog.
